Blouberg: An Area Overview

Category General Information

The long coast of Blouberg has been one of Cape Town's defining features since the days of the early settlers. With the world renowned Table Mountain providing a backdrop for exclusive homes nestled along the curving coast. In the 60's and 70's the white sandy beaches were used as a picnic get away for families and holiday makers looking to get away from the centre of the city and head to the blue beaches to relax.

Gradually as the population grew in Cape Town, homes begun being built in Milnerton and Milnerton Central, along the lagoon, where wild horses would roam in people's gardens when they felt safe. Soon the coast was dotted with communities, living the suburban dream. A small main road was used each day to drive to work and back in Cape Town's City Centre, while still maintaining a gorgeous beach lifestyle at home.

Today, Blouberg has many areas filled with a variety of people. Nestled between the West Coast road and the Blouberg beachfront, Bloubergrant, Blouberg Rise, Blouberg Sands and West Beach.

Blouberg ranks as one of the top kitesurfing beaches in the world and hosts the annual Red Bull King of the Air Competition which attracts competitors and visitors from all over the world. The area is within walking distance of Blouberg beach with postcard views and as far as the eye can see. The Blouberg beachfront offers fabulous restaurants, eateries and local pubs.

Fronted by a beautiful coastline with sandy white beaches and with top class infrastructure including a host of convenient malls and business nodes dotted throughout the areas. There are also plenty of medical centres including two private hospitals. There are approximately 20 schools in the area, including several private schools as well as top-class childcare and pre-school facilities.

The Blouberg area has enjoyed excellent capital value growth and is regarded as an excellent property investment area. There is a broad range of properties to choose from, ranging from flats to luxury beach apartments, townhouse complexes and many security
estates offering various types of housing, luxury coastal estates, golf estates as well as a wide range of freestanding properties.

With a notable amount of new development in the area, offering buyers a range of new property options to choose from as well as plenty of available commercial and business opportunities it's no wonder that Blouberg is sought after.
